UNOPS ICT Development team is seeking to hire an Application Architect/ SCRUM Master to deliver
innovative solutions for UNOPS and external users, as the IT focal point for a new e-commerce
platform. The project will be run using the SCRUM framework, and it is envisioned that the
successful applicant will be a vital link ensuring that the project is run in alignment with the SCRUM
methodology.
As a Web Developer you will actively participate in the agile development of a new e-commerce
portal for users around the world. You will interpret business requirements and deliver high quality
solutions based on modern web frameworks based on JavaScript frameworks and ASP.Net. The
project will deliver an external facing client portal, a catalogue management tool, and a
management portal interfacing other UNOPS systems.
Functional responsibilities will include:
•Managing the technical decisions relating to the new e-commerce platform
• Translating business needs into systems designs and solutions
•Determining project and resource management to ensure that the systems are developed on time
and on budget.
•Actively interact with all project stakeholders and translate business requirements into technical
requirements and designs that can be constructed.
•Conduct planning and technical design sessions with development team to project plans and work
breakdowns
•Monitor and validate work inputs from team developers.
•Extensive coordination with the business owners of the system to ensure that work packages are
on time and meet business needs.
•Clear understanding of the application architectures and instrumental input to the decision making
on technical architecture, including: Usage of modern Asp.net development framework (e.g. Entity
Framework) MVC/ EF based oversight of code management, QA, and project management tools
(TFS, Scrum Tools, Unit Testing)
•Management of integration with all relevant UNOPS and UN systems, including ERP and United
Nations Global Marketplace.
