The ideal candidate is a senior technical leader who can translate business needs into workable technology solutions. You will drive decisions on which technologies teams should adopt and when/how to build architectural frameworks leveraged by multiple teams and systems. As an experienced leader, you’re expected to roll up your sleeves and directly take on challenging technical and customer experience assignments, and integration with other Amazon teams and functions. This role is inherently cross-functional and you will work closely with business, engineering, research science, operations, and finance teams to research, conceive, design, develop and deliver a product that creates excitement and value for customers while growing business opportunities for Amazon.com.

· MS or BS in Computer Science or in a relevant Engineering discipline.
· 5+ years of industry experience as software developer, software development manager, or related technical role.
· Passion for building scalable, global, complex systems to solve problems with proven ability to deliver high quality software.
· Solid understanding of Object-Oriented design and concepts.
· Expert knowledge of Java, C/C++ or C# is a must.
· A proven track record of software delivery through all phases of development, including integration with other systems and services.
· Programming skills sufficient to extract, transform, and clean large (multi-TB) data sets in a Unix/Linux environment.
· A PhD in Computer Science or Machine Learning.
· Experience in Retail industry, working with Pricing and/or Selection management.
· Demonstrated skills implementing and deploying large scale machine learning applications and tools.
